Official Trailer FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA
Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth feature in George Miller’s “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” the highly awaited return to the legendary dystopian universe he created more than 30 years ago with the seminal “Mad Max” flicks. Miller is back with an all-new original, standalone action adventure that will tell the beginnings of the powerhouse character from the multi-Academy Award-winning global smash “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Miller and his longtime collaborator, Oscar-nominated producer Doug Mitchell (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Babe”), under their Australian-based Kennedy Miller Mitchell name, produce the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures release.
As the world crumbles, young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers and enslaved by a huge Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. They come upon The Immortan Joe’s Citadel while sweeping through the Wasteland. While the two Tyrants battle for power, Furiosa must overcome numerous difficulties as she attempts to piece together the means to return home.
Taylor-Joy plays the title character, and the film also stars Alyla Browne and Tom Burke, in addition to Hemsworth.
Miller collaborated with “Mad Max: Fury Road” co-writer Nico Lathouris on the script. First assistant director PJ Voeten and second unit director and stunt coordinator Guy Norris, director of photography Simon Duggan (“Hacksaw Ridge,” “The Great Gatsby”), composer Tom Holkenborg, sound designer Robert Mackenzie, editor Eliot Knapman, visual effects supervisor Andrew Jackson, and colorist Eric Whipp are among Miller’s creative team. Other long-term collaborators include production designer Colin Gibson, editor Margaret Sixel, sound mixer Ben Osmo, costume designer Jenny Beavan, and makeup artist Lesley Vanderwalt, all of whom earned Academy Awards for their efforts on “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” a Kennedy Miller Mitchell production and a George Miller film, is presented by Warner Bros. Pictures in association with Village Roadshow Pictures. Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film worldwide, opening in theaters on May 24, 2024 in the United States and internationally on May 22, 2024.
