CBS has announced a second season order for Matlock, the hit legal drama starring Emmy and Academy Award-winner Kathy Bates. A reimagining of the beloved classic series, Matlock has received rave reviews, earning a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a 100% Tomatometer score. The renewed series is set to return for the 2025-26 broadcast season.

Created by Jennie Snyder Urman, this updated version stars Bates as Madeline “Matty” Matlock, a sharp-witted attorney in her seventies who rejoins the workforce at a prestigious law firm. Using her unassuming demeanor and clever tactics, Matty not only wins cases but also navigates a complex, personal mystery. The series also stars Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter, David Del Rio, and Leah Lewis.
