Briana Price Is Ready to Be Seen—Inside Her Breakout Moment on Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sisters
In an industry eager to define, confine, and label, Briana Price emerges as a defiant breath of fresh air—a multi-hyphenate talent who refuses to be boxed in. From her earliest days watching movies wide-eyed at five years old to now starring in Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sisters, Price’s journey is one of devotion, evolution, and unapologetic purpose. And now, the world is catching up to the quiet force she’s always been.

From Childhood Wonder to Career Calling
“I remember this super clearly,” Briana recalls of a childhood trip to the movies with her mother. “I was about five years old… It was very clear to me, like, this is what I want to do.” Despite growing up in a household grounded in academics, Price’s inner world always pointed toward performance. Through dance in college and early explorations in acting, she found a sense of freedom in creative expression that daily life couldn’t quite contain.
“I get to be expressive in ways that maybe are not allowed in everyday life,” she says of acting. “That’s the magic. I can tap into emotions that society often shuns.” For Briana, art isn’t escape—it’s permission. It’s where whimsy and truth meet, and where characters become reflections of our most complicated selves.
The Role That Hit Close to Home: Meet Tiffany
In Divorced Sisters, Price plays Tiffany, a woman who is sarcastic, spirited, and—perhaps most importantly—a straight shooter. “She’s not into bullshit,” Briana says, laughing. “She’ll call it out immediately. She doesn’t have time or energy for keeping up appearances.”

Ironically, Tiffany wasn’t the role Briana originally read for. “I read for Geneva at first. At the callback, Tyler asked me to read for Tiffany—and when I did, I was like… oh. This is literally just me.” She describes Tiffany as “kind of a gossip,” “so defensive,” and deeply driven by a desire to be seen and loved. “That’s what drives so much of what she does,” Price says. “She just wants to be understood for who she really is.”
It’s a role that resonates not just because of its humor and heart, but because it mirrors the humanity Briana brings to her own life. “Anytime I have a big aversion to a character… that’s usually a very good sign that I’m running from something in myself,” she admits. “Acting forces me to confront that.”
A Spiritual Experience on Sacred Ground
Stepping onto Tyler Perry Studios for the first time wasn’t just another day on set—it was something closer to divine. “It felt like a spiritual experience. Seriously,” Briana says with wide eyes. “I walked in and thought—a Black man owns this. It blew my mind. To see this expansive, genius space that was created by a Black man for Black people… it was beyond inspiring.”
That moment was a revelation. “Working with Tyler made me realize—I haven’t been dreaming big enough. Like, the ceiling is much higher than I’ve imagined.”

Sisterhood, Soulwork, and Representation
Divorced Sisters follows five Black women in their 40s navigating everything from heartbreak to self-discovery to messy reunions—and all the growth in between. It’s the kind of layered storytelling Price feels television has long needed. “Each character is so unique. It’s refreshing to see this range of Black women on screen. We’re not a monolith—and this show gets that.”
For Briana, Divorced Sisters isn’t just entertainment. It’s catharsis. It’s connection. It’s a celebration of being seen. “This project changed my life,” she says. “I’ve worked my ass off for this moment. It’s incredible to see what happens when hard work and the right opportunity finally meet.”
Art as Oxygen
Before the screen, Briana was in the classroom—teaching in the LAUSD school system, bearing witness to the stress that Black and brown communities endure daily. “If there’s no release for this pressure valve that our communities are constantly facing,” she says, “we’re just gonna implode or explode.” That’s where art steps in. “I don’t understand how people get through life without it. So many times, it has saved me.”

Whether it’s acting, dancing, or the inevitable writing and directing she’s manifesting into her future, Price sees artistry not as luxury, but necessity. “It’s not optional,” she says. “It’s the most honest way I know to live.”
Where She’s Headed Next
With upcoming roles in California King and Stranger in My Home, Briana’s star is only just beginning its rise. She’s committed to telling the truth—through characters who love, fight, stumble, and soar—and to staying grounded in her values as she navigates the industry’s next chapter.
But for now, as Tiffany, she’s showing the world what it looks like to be smart, messy, loving, and real.
And for Briana Price? The moment is now. And she’s ready to be seen.
