Celebrate Soulfully: Disneyland Resort Honors Black Music Month with Soulful Sounds and Savory Bites
This June, Disneyland Resort transforms into a vibrant hub of rhythm and reflection in honor of Black Music Month, offering guests a unique chance to experience the cultural legacy of Black musical artistry alongside the magic of Disney.
Running from June 3 through June 30, the month-long celebration features live performances, immersive tributes, and limited-time culinary delights, blending entertainment and education in true Disney fashion. Visitors across Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney District, and the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort can join the festivities as the resort pays homage to the profound influence of Black music on American culture.

Music in Motion Across the Resort
At Disney California Adventure Park, the Paradise Garden Bandstand will come alive daily with high-energy sets celebrating iconic Black music genres, from jazz and blues to hip hop and gospel. These performances not only offer world-class entertainment, but also trace the musical lineage that has shaped the soundscape of America.
Over in Downtown Disney District, weekend vibes get elevated during Community Weekends. The Downtown Disney LIVE! stage becomes a sonic melting pot, featuring dynamic performances in reggae, funk, R&B, and more—all from local and regional talent celebrating the soul and spirit of Black music.
On Main Street, U.S.A., guests will encounter a thoughtful window display tribute to early 20th-century Black banjo masters, illuminating the banjo’s deep African roots and influence on folk and American roots music. It’s a visual nod to history that pairs perfectly with the sounds echoing throughout the parks.
Even the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa gets in on the celebration, offering easy summer listening at its pool deck. Guests can unwind to a smooth blend of neo soul, lo-fi hip hop, and classic R&B—a soothing soundtrack to a luxurious stay.
Soulful Flavors on the Menu
What’s a celebration without delicious bites? Disneyland Park is introducing two exclusive menu items inspired by the soul and flavor of Black culinary traditions:
- Buffalo Chicken Beignet Slider – Available at Royal Street Veranda, this bold twist on a New Orleans classic brings the heat and the comfort.
- Red Velvet Cake – A decadent dessert offering from Café Orleans that pays tribute to a beloved Southern staple.
These limited-time offerings are available throughout June, perfect for pairing with an afternoon of live music and sunshine.
