In theaters November 3rd, expanding November 17th
Cord Jefferson’s entertaining directorial debut, AMERICAN FICTION, addresses our culture’s preoccupation with reducing people to absurd clichés. Jeffrey Wright plays Monk, a disgruntled novelist who is tired of the establishment benefitting off “Black” entertainment based on stale and derogatory cliches. To prove his argument, Monk writes an outrageous “Black” book under a pen name, a work that propels him to the core of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to despise.
