Diarra From Detroit Revved Up for Season Two!

Today, BET+ and BET Studios officially hit the greenlight on a second season of the critically acclaimed, fan-favorite dramedy Diarra From Detroit! Creator, executive producer, writer, and star Diarra Kilpatrick is back, along with series regulars Bryan Terrell Clark, DomiNque Perry, and Jon Chaffin, ready to take us on another wild ride through the Motor City.

After a breakout first season that took critics and audiences by storm—scoring a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and landing spots on Deadline, Rolling Stone, and Variety’s Best TV of 2024 lists—the hit series is just getting started. From Spirit Award nominations to Image Award and GLAAD nods, Diarra From Detroit has proven it’s more than a show — it’s a cultural moment.

“Diarra’s voice is bold, original, and unapologetically real—exactly the kind of storytelling that resonates deeply with our audience,” said Aisha Summers Burke, EVP and GM of BET Studios. “This next chapter raises the stakes while keeping the same sharp wit and heart that made the series a standout.”

Season one followed Diarra, a no-nonsense schoolteacher whose search for a missing Tinder date uncovered secrets buried deep in Detroit’s underworld. Alongside her loyal (and sometimes reluctant) crew, she navigated love, danger, and city politics—all with sharp humor and a lot of heart.

Season two promises even bigger mysteries, deeper friendships, and plenty more of Diarra’s unfiltered, unstoppable spirit.

“We’re excited to be back and grateful for the opportunity to take viewers on another very wild, very Detroit adventure,” Kilpatrick shared. Executive producer Kenya Barris added, “Last season proved just how wildly talented Diarra Kilpatrick is—and I can’t wait for everyone to see what she and the team have in store this time around.”

Produced by BET Studios and Khalabo Ink Society, Diarra From Detroit is executive produced by Diarra Kilpatrick, Kenya Barris, and Miles Orion Feldsott.

Production on Season Two is gearing up — stay tuned for premiere dates and your next appointment with Detroit’s fiercest detective-in-the-making.
