First Look at Appl TV+’s “Land of Women” starring and produced by Eva Longoria

  • February 6, 2024

Apple TV+ today offered a first look at “Land of Women,” a new six-episode dramedy starring Golden Globe candidate Eva Longoria, who also acts as executive producer, along with iconic cinema and television performer Carmen Maura and newcomer Victoria Bazua.”Land of Women” will appear globally on Apple TV+ in the summer of 2024. The breakthrough show was shot in both English and Spanish and will be available to watch in both languages.

“Land of Women” stars Longoria as Gala, a New York empty nester whose life is turned upside down when her husband implicates the family in financial improprieties, forcing her to escape the city with her aged mother (Maura) and college-age daughter (Bazua). To avoid the deadly gangsters to whom Gala’s now-missing husband is indebted, the three ladies hide in the same picturesque wine town in northern Spain where Gala’s mother fled 50 years ago, promising never to return. The women want to start again and keep their identities hidden, but talk in the small village travels swiftly, revealing their darkest family secrets and realities.

Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, and Paula Fernández created “Land of Women,” which is based on award-winning author Sandra Barneda’s best-selling novel of the same name. Iris Award winner Carlos Sedes directs the film. The series is created by Bambú Producciones and originated at Apple Studios. The series is executive produced by showrunner Ramón Campos, Iris Award winner Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Ben Spector, and Longoria’s award-winning production firm UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, which she created in 2005 to produce film, television, and documentaries.

Apple TV+ provides premium, intriguing drama and comedy series, feature films, innovative documentaries, and children’s and family entertainment that can be watched on all of your favorite screens. After its global introduction on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ became the first all-original streaming service, premiering more original hits and receiving more award recognitions than any other streaming service in its debut. Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have received 452 awards and 2,068 nominations and counting, including the multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy “Ted Lasso” and the historic Oscar Best Picture winner “CODA.”
