The premiere date and first-look preview of “Bad Monkey,” the highly anticipated comedy from award-winning executive producer Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso,” “Shrinking”) and starring acclaimed actor, producer, and screenwriter Vince Vaughn, who also serves as an executive producer, were unveiled by Apple TV+ today. The first two episodes will premiere on August 14, 2024, and new episodes will be released every Wednesday until October 9.
“Bad Monkey” is a film that follows the journey of Andrew Yancy (played by Vaughn), who has been transferred out of the Miami Police department and now works as a health inspector in the Keys. However, when he comes across a case that starts with tourists finding a human arm, he realizes that if he can establish murder, he will be able to return. In order to proceed, he must overcome a collection of peculiar Floridian individuals and a particularly troublesome monkey.
The ensemble cast consists of L. Scott Caldwell from “The Fugitive,” Rob Delaney from “Catastrophe,” Meredith Hagner from “Search Party,” Natalie Martinez from “La Promesa del Returno,” Alex Moffat from “Saturday Night Live,” “Holiday,” Michelle Monaghan from “Gone Baby Gone” and “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” Ronald Peet from “First Reformed,” and Jodie Turner-Smith from “Queen and Slim.” Special guest star John Ortiz from “Fast and Furious” and guest stars Zach Braff from “Scrubs” and Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut.
Developed by Lawrence, an executive producer and showrunner, “Bad Monkey” is a production from Warner Bros. Television. Lawrence executive produced the show through his Doozer Productions, alongside Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses (“Scrubs”), Marcos Siega, Vince Vaughn, and Liza Katzer.
The latest collaboration between Lawrence and Warner Bros. Additionally, it won consecutive Emmy Awards for best comedy series in both its first and second seasons.
