First Look Images -“Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told” Documentary
Executive Producers Luke Campbell, Jermaine Dupri, and 21 Savage present Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told, a vibrant look back at the legendary Atlanta street party that defined an era. Starting as a Black college cookout, the event evolved into infamous stories of roadside encounters and epic nighttime celebrations that eventually caused the festival to fail. During its peak, Freaknik was a massive event that brought the city to a standstill and has now achieved cult status. Atlanta’s rich history of Civil Rights, strong Black leadership, and dedication to promoting Black culture and education made it the perfect location for a festival like this to flourish. Even though it ended more than twenty years ago, the impact of its legacy is still felt today through nostalgia and a new generation’s desire for a platform that celebrates and uplifts Black excellence, joy, and strength.
The documentary will premiere March 21st exclusively on Hulu.

This film includes appearances by 21 Savage, Lil Jon, Killer Mike, Jalen Rose, Too $hort, Shanti Das, former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Erick Sermon, CeeLo Green, Rico Wade, Kenny Burns, and others. It provides a close look at a lasting legacy, recognizing the challenges it brought to society and its significant impact on Atlanta’s cultural scene and beyond.
