“It’s unheard of. It’s like a unicorn. Who gets to do a series with this many seasons?” When asked about her overall experience, Marshall replied: When the script for “For All Mankind”didn’t initially come across Krys desk, it felt like destiny stepped in when a last minute audition opportunity presented itself. “They gave me eight pages of material to read, and half of the words I didn’t recognize,” Marshall shared. Fortunately, there was a scene where her character, Danielle, engaged in a heated debate with her colleagues.
Marshall expressed her lack of knowledge about being an astronaut and her limited understanding of science and technology. However, she found a connection in the scene’s portrayal of the need for self-defense and the feeling of being caught between two worlds.Krys quickly overcame any doubts about playing an astronaut and was thrilled to land the role the very next day. She eagerly embraced the exciting challenge that lay ahead. She immersed herself in a world of space exploration, Cold War history, and the complexities of being an astronaut. “Thank God we have amazing writers, producers, and showrunners who want to protect the actors and make sure that we’re doing things right,” Marshall expressed. “I don’t know what it’s like to drink from separate water fountains or go to a segregated school. But Danielle knows what that’s like intimately,”Marshall explained. From establishing the groundwork in season one to delving into life on the moon in season two, and the triumphs and challenges in the following seasons, “We have a solid foundation for our characters. Now everything is being turned upside down. We are witnessing a dramatic upheaval in life on Mars. There is currently a disagreement between the people on the lower and upper decks. There is confusion and chaos there.” Marshall explained.
