Highlights from the Radio, Music, and Film Summit 2024: A Celebration of Talent, Insight, and Industry Excellence in Atlanta
Those who have not attended the Radio, Music, and Film Summit in Atlanta are genuinely missing a remarkable experience. This two-day event highlights a diverse group of outstanding artists and professionals from different backgrounds, each presenting their unique talents and lively personalities. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as the artists gracefully made their way down the red carpet, radiating charm and charisma. The weekend was thrilling, offering me the opportunity to experience remarkable talent and partake in insightful discussions with various artists.
The president of the annual Radio, Music & Film summit is Emmanuel Lewis, recognized for his role in the popular TV show “Webster.” He was joined by Emmy Nominee Ebonice Atkins, who provided valuable insights regarding the summit’s objectives. The Radio, Music & Film Alliance of Georgia is committed to promoting growth and excellence in the entertainment industry by focusing on education, networking, and acknowledging outstanding achievements. Their aim is to provide vital resources and opportunities for both industry professionals and aspiring artists.
A range of workshops occurred throughout the day, including The Art of The Deal, Lawyer Up, Show Me The Money, TV Titans Unleashed, The Art of Remixing, Actors Access Fashion Fusion, Radio Programming, and Airplay Broadcast Monitoring. The workshops showcased a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Ebonice Atkins, DJ Jelly, Tangi Miller, and HeadKrack, along with many others.
This year, the summit ignited excitement in vibrant Atlanta with artists such as Lisa “Left Eye” Fan Experience Toy Toy, Mike Clark Jr., Lucky Leek, Ice Buck, and many others. Sky Whatley, India Starke, Tony Wilson, Millie Jackson, Patricia Walker, and several others were among the twenty esteemed individuals who received recognition for their significant contributions to the industry. The evening served as a stunning homage to skill and achievement.
The event delved into multiple aspects, beginning with a mixer in the entertainment industry that featured a special screening of “As If We Were Ghosts” by Ours Studios. The event included an artist showcase, a DJ café and battle, vendor booths, and a red carpet walk. The event showcased six panels that delved into different facets of the entertainment industry, covering topics such as music distribution, acting, filmmaking, DJing, producing, and radio personalities. Furthermore, the Speak Lounge offered health services and organized autograph signings featuring the renowned actor Roderick Lawrence.
Casual Cal, MC Lightfoot, and Emmanuel Lewis put together a gala to wrap up the weekend, showcasing performances by southern soul artists Toy Toy, Mike Clark Jr., Lucky Leek, Ice Buck, Robin West, The Bruce Wayne Band, Klay Redd, Young James Brown, and R&B star Cherrelle.
