It’s a family affair with Triple Charm

Many people utilized social media as an outlet during the pandemic, while others used it to construct, build, and further their business and brand story. Amalia, Raena, and Gabriella used this opportunity to perfect their skills as social media experts. The already skilled trio knew how to dance, sing, and amuse, but they realized that creating an audience would be their only route to take their group Triple Charm nationwide one day, and eventually globally.

“We realized we could make music, but we needed to figure out how to get people to listen. We had to figure that out,” Amalia explained. Even at a young age, they realized that in order to achieve their goals, they would need a large audience that would understand them, follow them, invest in their music, and become loyal listeners. As a result, they embarked on a journey to develop a real social media presence that would serve their goal. Raena said, “We grew our social media by seven thousand followers in a month by following people we thought would be interested in our music and commenting on their posts.” The sisters would spend one hour per day on the app, taking turns. They were well aware that this would not be a quick process.

“We were creating just a bunch of content, and it took off from there,” Gabriella added.

They told me they were all competitive dancers when they were younger. “Our dance background plays a big role in everything we do,” Raena went on to say. It’s no surprise that they have over five million social media followers and seventeen million YouTube subscribers. They create excellent stuff, from catchy lyrics to celebrity productions.

Following the success of their songs Thrive, Tough Boy, and Don’t Need a Reason, they traveled to Puerto Rico to record the music video for No Problema. They took advantage of the opportunity to reconnect with their father’s relatives. “We grew up listening to Latin music because our father is Puerto Rican,” Amalia explained. “But sadly, we did not learn Spanish.” They take advantage of opportunities like this to continue to hone their Spanish skills.

With No Problema they were doing more than just reconnecting with their ancestors. Gabriella went on to say, “We want this work to represent other Latin American kids growing up in the US like us who didn’t learn to speak at first.” They were open about how, as being biracial, they didn’t always feel like they fit in with either culture.

“Our parents raised us to be good people and to do good things,” Raena said.

And their parents made it a family affair to create and build the Triple Charm brand. Their father manages them, while their mother is their stylist. They studied together as they launched on this entertainment path because none of them came from an entertainment background. The sisters expressed their gratitude and appreciation for having this type of support structure in their lives. “We all had a unified idea and mission for the group when we started,” Amalia went on to say. This, she believes, is what keeps the group on track and prepared for what comes next.

The family is planning an incredible 2024, with the sisters headlining events in Los Angeles and New York. And, while they emphasized their parents’ positions in the group, I was curious about what they thought of each other as a whole.

Gabby was described by Amalia and Raena as “the one who brings us all together.” She’s the mediator and collaborator who finds a happy medium.” They admitted that they can all be pretty opinionated at times, but Gabby is able to ensure that they find common ground.

Amalia was described as a “momager” by Gabby and Raena. She’s the most organized, and she keeps us on track. She ensures that everything goes as planned.” Amalia ensures that the plans are laid down and that they are followed.

Raena was described by Amalia and Gabby as “the creative one who is extremely detail oriented.” When the group generates ideas, it is her brain that begins to meddle from the right side. Take a look at their social media videos, where they revealed that Raena is the one who edits them.

When it comes to these sisters, I am certain that this is only the beginning. They will soar to new heights with the love, support, and bonds of family.

Triple Charm will be headlining debut shows in LA Jan. 20th at iconic venues: The Roxy promoted by Goldenvoice AEG and in NYC on Jan. 27th at The Gramercy Theatre promoted by Live Nation.
