NBC Renews First-Year Drama Series, “Found” and “The Irrational”
NBC has renewed its first-year drama shows “Found” and “The Irrational.”
“These shows are a testament to the incredibly passionate work of our showrunners Nkechi Okoro Carroll (‘Found’) and Arika Lisanne Mittman (‘The Irrational,'” stated Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Entertainment. “A huge thank you to the talented cast, producers and crews for their tireless commitment and dedication, which has clearly paid off with audiences making these series must-see television on both NBC and next day on Peacock.”
“The Irrational” is the season’s top new show in overall viewers, while “Found” is the season’s top drama in the 18-49 demo.
This season, “Found” and “The Irrational” are the #1 and #2 broadcast programs in total viewers among Black audiences, respectively.
“Found” and “The Irrational” have been NBC’s top digital premieres across all major platforms to date.
“Found” airs on NBC on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. and on Peacock the following day. Following its December 12 transmission, the series will return on January 9 for the season’s final two episodes.
Beginning Monday, Jan. 29 at 10 p.m., “The Irrational” will return with the final four episodes of its first season.
‘FOUND’
More than 600,000 persons are reported missing in the United States each year. More than half of those are persons of color, whom the country appears to overlook. Gabi Mosely (series star and producer Shanola Hampton), a public relations specialist who was once one of the forgotten ones, and her crisis management team now ensure that there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing individuals. But, unbeknownst to everyone, this ordinary hero is harboring a terrifying secret of her own.
Shanola Hampton, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi star in the film. Executive producers include Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Sonay Hoffman, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, and Lindsay Dunn.
Berlanti Productions and Rock My Soul Productions collaborate on the project alongside Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, both divisions of the Universal Studio Group.
‘THE IRRATIONAL’
“The Irrational” follows Alec Mercer (Jesse L. Martin), a world-renowned professor of behavioral science, as he offers his unique knowledge to a variety of high-stakes situations involving governments, police enforcement, and corporations. His intuition and unusual approach to studying human behavior lead him and the team on a series of difficult, unexpected trips to solve illogical riddles and enigmas.
Jesse L. Martin, Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, and Arash DeMaxi star in the film. Executive producers include Arika Lisanne Mittman, Mark Goffman, Sam Baum, and David Frankel. The episode is based on Dan Ariely’s best-selling book “Predictably Irrational.”
Universal Television, a part of Universal Studio Group, produces the show.
