Paramount+ Unveils Thrilling Teaser and Premiere Date for Happy Face
The wait is almost over! Paramount+ has officially dropped the first teaser trailer for its highly anticipated original drama series Happy Face, along with its premiere date. Mark your calendars—the gripping eight-episode season kicks off on Thursday, March 20, with a two-episode debut, streaming exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. and internationally where the service is available. New episodes will roll out weekly on Thursdays, leading up to an intense season finale on May 1.
With a powerhouse cast, Happy Face stars Emmy-nominated and Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford and Emmy Award and two-time Golden Globe-nominated actor Dennis Quaid, alongside James Wolk, Tamera Tomakili, Khiyla Aynne, and Benjamin Mackey.
Inspired by the chilling true-life story of Melissa G. Moore, the acclaimed Happy Face podcast, and the autobiography Shattered Silence, the series dives deep into Moore’s harrowing past. At just 15, Moore uncovered a devastating truth—her beloved father was none other than the notorious Happy Face Killer. Now an adult, she has built a new identity, distancing herself from his crimes while he serves a life sentence in prison.
But the past refuses to stay buried. In Happy Face, Melissa (Ashford) is forced to confront her father (Quaid) after decades of estrangement when he finds a way to reinsert himself into her life. As she races against time to prevent the execution of a man wrongly convicted for her father’s crimes, Melissa is also confronted with the profound impact of his heinous acts on the victims’ families and must face a personal reckoning like never before.
Brought to life by CBS Studios in association with King Size Productions, iHeartPodcasts, and Semi-Formal Productions, Happy Face boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including showrunner Jennifer Cacicio (Your Honor, Shooter), Robert and Michelle King, Liz Glotzer, Melissa G. Moore, Conal Byrne, Will Pearson, Michael Showalter, and Jordana Mollick. Showalter (The Dropout, The Eyes of Tammy Faye) also directed the first episode.
Brace yourself for a psychological drama that’s as gripping as it is unsettling. Stay tuned—Happy Face is coming to Paramount+ this March, and it’s set to leave a lasting impression.
