The main focus of the tale is Sanctuary’s resident witch, Sarah Fenn (Elaine Cassidy), whom the community turns to for help when more traditional approaches fail. Dan Whithall, a local teenage rugby star, passes away tragically in what appears to be an accident. His passing highlights the horrifying undertone of mistrust and anxiety that Sarah and her teenage daughter Harper (Hazel Doupe) must deal with. Once Sarah’s closest friend, Abigail (Amy de Bhrún), the mother of the slain boy, is devastated and goes on a modern-day witch hunt to exact “justice,” no matter the cost.
