Shanola Hampton, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi discuss the current season of Found.
Found, NBC’s latest drama series, has been given the green light for a second season. Gabi Mosely (series star and producer Shanola Hampton) is the central character of the series. She is the owner of a crisis management company called Mosely and Associates. Every episode, she and her team are given the important responsibility of locating individuals who often go unnoticed by the general public. However, they must also confront their own past and personal struggles. The series beautifully captures the full range of human emotions, delving into the complexities of our hidden secrets, the ways we navigate through trauma, and the distinction between mere survival and true flourishing.
I had the pleasure of speaking with the entire cast, which included Shanola Hampton, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi.
There is an undeniable chemistry between the male and female characters on television that is truly unique and captivating. “It’s weird, it’s creepy, but not in a sexual way,” Hampton stated. This focuses on the dynamic between her character Gabi and Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s character Sir. At the beginning of the series, it is revealed that Sir had kept Gabi captive for an entire year before she finally managed to escape. Her journey took her into the realm of locating individuals who had disappeared. However, in a surprising turn of events, she currently holds Sir captive in her basement. She relies on him for assistance in solving the missing cases.
According to Mark, the chemistry between Gabi and Sir stems from the genuine relationship he and Shanola have on set.
According to Shanola, Gabi’s behavior can be described as unpredictable, which she believes is driven by her strong desire to assist in locating individuals. She emphasized that Gabi is fully aware of her unique dedication and relentless efforts in locating missing individuals. She becomes guarded and hesitant to open up, burdened by the weight she carries.
Mark shared with me that in the upcoming season finale, we’ll get a glimpse into the moment when Sir first laid eyes on Gabi. I won’t spoil any details, but it’s definitely a memory worth watching.
Keilli (Margaret), Brett (Mark), and Gabrielle (Lacey) bring their characters to life in the series, demonstrating how our personal experiences can be transformed into a source of strength and positivity. Gabrielle highlighted Margaret’s ability to find hope and love in the face of sadness, emphasizing that life can still be lived to the fullest. Throughout each episode, her unwavering dedication to the team and her relentless pursuit of finding her missing son are evident as she utilizes her sharp cognitive abilities to assist in solving cases.
“Healing isn’t linear,” Walsh explained, referring to what Lacey demonstrates. Lacey demonstrates the ability to navigate her daily responsibilities while on a path of healing. She further elaborates on how Lacey’s story highlights the lasting impact of extreme trauma, even on individuals who appear to be well-adjusted and content in life.
Brett described the dynamic between Mark as a constant struggle between logic and emotions. The author utilized the comparison of a passionate referee who genuinely desires success for both teams. He often finds himself torn between following the rules as a cop and letting Gabi and her team take charge, no matter how extreme their methods may be in order to crack the case.
I conversed with Alen and Karan about the dynamic of their characters to wrap up the interview. “They are experiencing their relationship at different stages,” Escarpeta explained. You can observe the validity of this statement as Dhan had previously encountered difficulties in dealing with Zeke’s response to a comparable traumatic event. Alren pointed out that this dynamic highlights the frequent misunderstandings we have about others’ experiences, even when they appear to be functioning well.
Karan expressed his appreciation for the show, highlighting its unique qualities. There is a certain allure in observing how every individual adorns a unique facade when in the public eye, a practice that we all engage in to navigate through life’s challenges. The interaction between his character and Zeke demonstrates the power of creating a safe environment where both individuals can express themselves freely, without fear of judgment.
This show is truly a pleasure to watch. The characters in the story allow you to catch glimpses of yourself and the people in your life. Each episode leaves you with a heightened awareness of yourself and the world around you.
