Tank and Raejon Jones talk newest project Bringing Back Christmas
When you take the time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas it sometimes gets lost on the purchase of material things. It is about family, spirit, bringing everyone together, and appreciating the many blessings we have. “Bringing Back Christmas” is a movie that will remind you of the genuine essence of the season. In this heartwarming film, a family faces various challenges, with Tank portraying the angel Gabriel who you may recognize from movies like Big Sky (2021), Dark Winds (2023), Poker Face (2023), and many more. Raejon Jones known for his roles in The Legend of Hoshea and Big Sky alongside his father (2020), Letters at Christmas (2022), and Blossom (2023), portrays Chris, a disabled child needing surgery. This delightful, family-friendly comedy invites audiences to rediscover the true meaning of Christmas.
While talking to the father and son duo, it became clear why they were the perfect team for this inspiring movie. Tank initiated the discussion by sharing details about where the movie was filmed and the challenging shooting experience. “We shot this movie in Texas in July, enduring 104-degree weather while wearing coats and wool, trying not to look like we’re dying,” said Tank.
Curious about why they believed this movie would connect with the audience, I asked Raejon for an explanation. “I think this movie is great, and the audience is going to love it. It brings people together and doesn’t have a negative influence. Instead, it leaves people feeling happy,” explained Raejon.
Christmas has a way of enchanting everyone with its magical spirit. During this time of year, people’s hearts warm up, and a sense of generosity fills the air. However, while it’s a beautiful season, it can also bring pain to some. Tank believes that this movie will inspire hope in a world that can often feel icy and unforgiving. “Family, friends, get-togethers where we’re having a good time. We both know many things are happening in the world that try to divide us. Laughter brings people together, and this film has that. It retells the Christmas story with humor, and I truly believe it will be one of those films that stand the test of time,” said Tank.
Tank’s words perfectly capture the significance of the movie and convey its importance. I was also interested to hear Raejon’s perspective on what the film meant to him. He shared, “I think this film is important because, as my dad said, it brings people together. When you watch it, it’s not just a random Christmas story. It’s filled with laughter, and you’ll have a great time watching it. It’s not your typical Christmas movie.”
What struck me was not only Rajon’s talent as an actor but also how he expressed his ideas to improve a scene, which the producers recognized and used. “In one scene, I wasn’t feeling happy or excited; I was just there. So, I decided that in that particular scene, my family and I should be happy. I felt something was missing from the scene—a sense of excitement. I shared my idea with the producers, and they incorporated it, making the scene more interesting,” shared Raejon.
With many kids nowadays no longer believing in Santa, who is sometimes portrayed as a fictional genie granting wishes, I was curious about the message the movie wanted to convey. Tank explained, “Regardless of your beliefs or faith, the title ‘Christmas’ is connected to Christ, who is at the center of it. It has been interpreted to mean family, allowing more people to feel included in the celebration. For Christians, it commemorates the sacrifice made for us. It’s important to understand whose story it is and why we gather together. The movie shows where our thankfulness comes from and how we can extend that same grace to others.”
This incredible movie is not to be missed. It will undoubtedly touch your soul deeply. You can catch it now on the website www.bringbackchristmasmovie.com, as well as on streaming platforms like IMDB, Amazon Prime, Vudu, and Apple TV. I’ll be watching, and I hope you will too.
