Trailer: Apple Tv+’s Gripping Limited Series “Lady in the Lake”
Apple TV+ has just released the trailer for its highly anticipated series “Lady in the Lake.” This captivating seven-part limited series features the talented Natalie Portman, an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award-winner, who not only stars in the show but also serves as an executive producer. Joining her is the talented Moses Ingram, an Emmy Award nominee. The series was created and directed by the talented Alma Har’el. “Lady in the Lake” is set to premiere worldwide on Apple TV+ with the initial two episodes scheduled for release on Friday, July 19, 2024. Subsequent episodes will be released every Friday until August 23, 2024.
As the city of Baltimore is gripped by the mysterious disappearance of a young girl on Thanksgiving 1966, the lives of two women intertwine, leading to a fateful collision. Maddie Schwartz (Portman), a Jewish housewife looking to leave behind a hidden past and start anew as an investigative journalist, and Cleo Johnson (Ingram), a mother navigating the political underbelly of Black Baltimore while striving to support her family. Their lives may appear to run in parallel at first, but when Maddie becomes obsessed with unraveling the enigmatic circumstances surrounding Cleo’s death, a dangerous chasm emerges, putting everyone around them at risk. Directed by Alma Har’el, “Lady in the Lake” is a gripping noir thriller that delves into the sacrifices women make in pursuit of their dreams.
Joining Portman and Ingram in the series are Y’lan Noel, Brett Gelman, Byron Bowers, Noah Jupe, Josiah Cross, Mikey Madison, and Pruitt Taylor Vince.
Coming from FIFTH SEASON, “Lady in the Lake” is brought to you by Crazyrose and Bad Wolf America. It is the brainchild of Har’el and Christopher Leggett, who serve as executive producers, writers, and directors. Portman not only stars in the film, but also takes on the role of executive producer, working alongside her producing partner Sophie Mas. Nathan Ross and the late Jean-Marc Vallée are listed as executive producers for Crazyrose, while Julie Gardner serves as executive producer for Bad Wolf America. Layne Eskridge, Amy Kaufman, Boaz Yakin, and author Lippmann are also involved as executive producers.The soundtrack has been composed by Marcus Norris, the founder and artistic director of the South Side Symphony. The live performances were created and crafted by Bekon, a highly respected producer who has received critical acclaim for his work on Kendrick Lamar’s albums DAMN. and Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
