Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth are the stars of George Miller’s highly anticipated “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” a return to the iconic dystopian world he first brought to life over 30 years ago with the groundbreaking “Mad Max” films. Miller presents a fresh, standalone action adventure that delves into the origins of the iconic character from the critically acclaimed “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The new feature is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, produced by Miller and his partner, Doug Mitchell, who have a successful track record with films like “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Babe.” The project is being developed under their Australian-based Kennedy Miller Mitchell banner.

Amidst the collapse of society, a brave young woman named Furiosa is taken away from her peaceful home, the Green Place of Many Mothers, and finds herself in the clutches of a powerful group of bikers led by the formidable Warlord Dementus. As they journey through the desolate Wasteland, they stumble upon the imposing Citadel ruled by the enigmatic Immortan Joe. As the two Tyrants battle for supremacy, Furiosa faces numerous challenges in her quest to find her way back home.

Taylor-Joy takes on the lead role, joined by Hemsworth, Alyla Browne, and Tom Burke in the film.

Miller wrote the script alongside Nico Lathouris, who also co-wrote “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Miller’s creative team consists of first assistant director PJ Voeten, second unit director and stunt coordinator Guy Norris, director of photography Simon Duggan, composer Tom Holkenborg, sound designer Robert Mackenzie, editor Eliot Knapman, visual effects supervisor Andrew Jackson, and colorist Eric Whipp. The team also consists of other experienced collaborators: production designer Colin Gibson, editor Margaret Sixel, sound mixer Ben Osmo, costume designer Jenny Beavan, and makeup designer Lesley Vanderwalt. All of them were awarded an Oscar for their contributions to “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
