Prime Video unveiled the official trailer and key art for Giannis: The Marvelous Journey, a feature-length documentary that follows the remarkable journey of NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo from a humble childhood in Greece as the son of Nigerian immigrants to the pinnacle of the basketball realm. The documentary is set to debut on February 19 only on Prime Video across over 240 countries and territories globally. Giannis: The Marvelous Journey is the newest inclusion in the Prime membership. Giannis: The Marvelous Journey provides an intimate look at a global superstar and one of the NBA’s most dominant players, a two-time league MVP who guided the Milwaukee Bucks to a championship in 2021. His journey started far from the limelight, in the streets of Athens. He grew up on the outskirts of society with his three brothers, raised by parents who had moved from Nigeria in pursuit of a brighter future. The documentary tells the story of how young Giannis discovered basketball after being inspired by NBA stars while at an internet café. An epic journey unfolded, filled with inspiring, heartbreaking, and triumphant moments, leading him to his adopted home of Milwaukee. There, he became known as “The Greek Freak,” a superstar who pushed boundaries in the game with his athleticism and versatility. He aims to make a lasting impact beyond the court, drawing strength from the loss he experienced.

Giannis: The Marvelous Journey includes interviews with Giannis Antetokounmpo and his entire family, such as his mother Veronica Antetokounmpo, his brothers Thanasis, Kostas, and Alex Antetokounmpo, and his fiancée Mariah Riddlesprigger. It also features basketball figures like Jason Kidd, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Kenny Smith, Vin Baker, Ernie Johnson, and others. This is the first instance where the family has shared personal stories of their journey.
