The popular TV sitcom AVERAGE JOE has been given a second season renewal by BET+

Season one made a significant impact on BET+, establishing itself as the top scripted drama series on the platform during its first week. Set in the gritty “Hill” district of Pittsburgh, Average Joe is a darkly comedic drama that draws inspiration from the life of creator Robb Cullen. Joe Washington’s (Cole) ordinary life is completely upended after the loss of his father and a series of unforeseen and violent incidents. Season one also featured a talented cast including Tammy Townsend, Malcolm Barrett, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Michael Trucco, Ashley Olivia Fisher, Pasha Lychnikoff, and Ashani Perkins. The story takes viewers on a captivating journey that explores the complexities of family relationships and friendships, as characters find themselves entangled in a high-stakes situation involving large sums of money and dangerous individuals.

After his remarkable and outstanding performance in the first season, Deon Cole, an acclaimed actor and comedian who has won the NAACP award, will once again take on the role of “Joe Washington,” a diligent and down-to-earth plumber. Robb Cullen, McG, Corey Marsh, Mary Viola, and Deb Evans are set to return as executive producers.Rose Catherine Pinkney has been chosen to serve as the executive producer for BET.
